Research Interests

Presently the our research is aimed towards the development of asymmetric transformation, catalytic reactions, metal-free synthesis, organocatalysis and new methods for organic synthesis. The reactions that particularly give interest to us are those which proceed via a unique reaction mechanism and/or display useful chemo-, regio-, diastereo-, and especially, enantio-selectivity. By doing so, attention must be paid to the question of atom economy to minimize waste, energy, and consumption of raw materials in nature. Ultimately, we are interested to use these methods to address problems in the synthesis of complex molecules possessing interesting structural, biological and physical properties.
